From an airspace perspective, flying a drone here introduces immense risks. Beyond the industrial safety protocols required by the international ISPS Code (International Ship and Port Facility Security Code) to prevent espionage or sabotage, the port shares a major geographic overlap with the strict obstacle restriction zones of Santos Dumont Airport (SDU) and the international transit routes of Galeão Airport (GIG). High-frequency industrial radio signals, cargo cranes, and moving ship radars create a high probability of electromagnetic interference, risking a total loss of drone control.
To legally operate a drone in this complex for technical or media purposes:
Formal Application: You must submit a formal request to the Port Authority's Communication and Security teams specifying the exact date, purpose, and coordinates.
Mandatory Documentation: You must supply the drone's ANATEL homologation, ANAC SISANT registration, a valid RETA insurance certificate (aviation liability), an operational risk assessment, and active pilot credentials.
DECEA Clearance: Once the Port Authority provides written consent, the flight must be scheduled and cleared through DECEA's SARPAS NG.
