Drone Rules for Fort Lee Historic Park, Palisades Interstate Park Commission
You cannot launch from inside the park but you can launch outside it to get some great shots.
Highly complex. The Hudson River sits under a strict Visual Flight Rules (VFR) corridor. You must stay entirely on the New Jersey side of the river and strictly observe Class G altitude limits below 400 feet. Do not cross the river boundary into New York airspace.Ground Rules: You cannot launch from inside Fort Lee Historic Park or Palisades Interstate Park itself. However, you can legally launch from the public, municipal sidewalks and open piers located right along the Hudson River Waterfront Walkway just south of the bridge. Tip for Pilots: Do NOT attempt to take off from inside the Palisades state parks, as rangers will issue a fine. Instead, set up your landing pad on the public, concrete Waterfront Walkway south of the park boundaries. Keep your drone on the New Jersey half of the river, never fly directly over the bridge structure, and remain highly vigilant for low-flying tourist and emergency helicopters using the Hudson River corridor.
