Air Permission required Last updated: May 24, 2026

Flight Status: Permission Required / Restricted. Under FAA NOTAM 4/3621, drone flights are strictly prohibited within a 3 nautical mile radius of Dodger Stadium starting 1 hour before scheduled MLB games until 1 hour after events conclude, unless an explicit FAA waiver is granted

Federal Stadium Restrictions (FAA NOTAM 4/3621)

  • The 3-Mile Rule: In accordance with 14 CFR § 99.7 (Special Security Instructions), the FAA issues a standing Temporary Flight Restriction (TFR) for major sporting events. Drone operations are completely barred within a 3 nautical mile (3.45 mile) radius of Dodger Stadium.
  • Timing Window: This airspace restriction goes into effect exactly 1 hour before the scheduled start time of any Los Angeles Dodgers home game or major event/concert, and remains active until 1 hour after the event ends.

Surrounding Airspace & Ground Controls

  • LAANC & Controlled Airspace: Outside of game days, Dodger Stadium is located in close proximity to complex Class B and Class D airspace corridors in Los Angeles. Operators must verify real-time LAANC grids and airspace status when the stadium is empty.
  • Operations Over Moving Vehicles & Crowds: Even when a game is not active, flying over the stadium's parking lots, surrounding open-air transit structures, or adjacent streets (like Stadium Way) during ingress/egress violates FAA rules regarding sustained flight over dense crowds and moving vehicles without a specific Category waiver.
