Doi Inthanon National Park in northern Thailand prohibits drone operations under Thailand Civil Aviation Authority regulations. The park contains Thailand's highest peak (2,565m) and is a hotspot for rare bird species including Snowy-browed Flycatcher.

Drone operations are prohibited within Doi Inthanon National Park under Thailand Civil Aviation Authority (CAAT) Drone Regulation 2021 and Royal Forestry Department park rules.

Airspace / Site Context

  • Chiang Mai International Airport (VTCC) Class C lies ~60 km north
  • Park summit at 2,565 m MSL; cloud forest habitats require careful approach
  • CAAT requires registration, training certificate, and insurance for commercial drone ops
  • Royal chedis at the summit are sacred sites where photography/filming is restricted

  • No drone operations in any Thai national park without RFD and CAAT authorization
  • CAAT MVID registration and third-party liability insurance mandatory
  • Drone flights over royal property (chedis) are strictly prohibited under lese-majeste laws
