Drone Rules for Heliporto De Armamar
Drone operations in the open category are strictly prohibited within a safe radius of the Heliporto de Armarmar, situated in Viseu, without explicit authorization from ANAC.
The Armamar Air Resources Center (also known as CMA de Armamar or Armamar Heliport) is located in Lugar da Mariz. This operational infrastructure is part of the DECIR network (Special Device for Combating Rural Fires) and serves as a support and parking base for firefighting helicopters. Specifically, the Portuguese Decree-Law (Regulamento 1093/2016) mandates that any drone activity falling under the 'open category' is absolutely prohibited within a defined safe radius surrounding this heliport. This critical safety perimeter is established to prevent interference with manned helicopter operations and ensure the integrity of aerial access to this vital infrastructure serving Viseu and the broader Viseu District. Consequently, any individual or entity contemplating drone flight in the immediate geographical area must first secure explicit authorization from the Autoridade Nacional da Aviação Civil (ANAC) before commencing any operations, as operating a drone in this specific zone without prior ANAC approval constitutes a serious regulatory violation.
