Drone Rules for JDF headquarters
JDF Headquarters at Up Park Camp is an active military installation and home to the Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing. Drone operators should not launch, land, or operate from the property without authorization and should be aware of military aviation activities occurring within the facility.
Military Installation
Up Park Camp serves as the headquarters of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) and contains operational military facilities, administrative buildings, training areas, and aviation assets. Access to the property is controlled, and visitors may be subject to security procedures and restrictions.
Drone Operations
Drone operators should not launch, land, recover, or conduct operations from within JDF property without appropriate authorization.
Pilots should:
Obtain permission before operating from military property. Follow all instructions from security personnel. Avoid interfering with military activities, vehicles, personnel, or aircraft. Immediately yield to any manned aircraft operating in the area. Aviation Awareness
The Jamaica Defence Force Air Wing operates from Up Park Camp and conducts helicopter operations, including training, transportation, emergency response, search and rescue, and other official missions.
Drone pilots operating in surrounding areas should remain alert for low-flying helicopters and maintain compliance with all JCAA unmanned aircraft regulations.
Additional JCAA Requirements Maximum altitude: 400 ft (122 m). Aircraft must remain within visual line of sight. FPV-only operations are not permitted. Maintain separation from uninvolved persons and crowds. Do not operate in a manner that endangers manned aircraft.
