Cinque Terre National Park on the Italian Riviera prohibits all drone flights under ENAC (Italian Civil Aviation Authority) regulations and local municipality ordinances. The UNESCO World Heritage coastline has strict airspace controls due to proximity to La Spezia Military Area.

All drone operations are prohibited within Cinque Terre National Park and the five villages under ENAC drone regulations and municipal ordinances effective 2019.

  • La Spezia Airport (LIQL) lies ~10 km east; Italian military naval base at La Spezia
  • ENAC prohibits drone flights in urban areas and over crowds of people (< 150 m)
  • UNESCO World Heritage coastal terraces are densely populated with tourists
  • Ligurian Sea Pelagos Sanctuary (cetacean protection) lies offshore
