Drone Rules for Sonderlandeplatz Meißendorf-Brunsiek
Drone flights within 1.5 km of Meißendorf-Brunsiek Airfield (DE-0355) are strictly prohibited without prior operational permission due to continuous high-altitude skydiving activities.
This specific geographical flight restriction safeguards the 1.5 km lateral safety buffer centered on the Meißendorf-Brunsiek airfield installation (DE-0355). Nestled within a sensitive moorland environment near Winsen Aller, this unmonitored grass-strip aerodrome serves as a highly active regional drop zone for heavy skydiving and parachute jumping operations. The dedicated jump plane regularly climbs and descends rapidly directly over the perimeter to drop parachutists from altitudes up to 13,000 feet. Because these divers fall silently at extreme vertical speeds and cannot avoid airborne obstacles, unauthorized drone deployment near the runway 02/20 boundaries presents a fatal structural collision hazard. Exceptional flight coordination or temporary operational waivers must be negotiated well in advance with the operating organization (Fallschirmsportverein Hannover e.V.) prior to launching any unmanned vehicle.
