This restriction zone exists to prevent catastrophic mid-air collisions between drones and crewed aircraft within critical low-altitude approach phases.Special Airspace Hazards: High frequency of high-velocity steel cable winch launches (Windenstart) and airplane aero-tows, especially on weekends and holidays. Due to the airfield's exposed location on a high ridge, strong winds cause severe lee effects and microburst turbulence near both runway thresholds (07/25 orientation), making low-altitude drone encounters extremely dangerous for descending aircraft. Furthermore, pilots must respect the overlapping airspace Delta of nearby Nuremberg airport.Consequences of Violations: Unauthorized drone operations inside this boundary constitute a dangerous interference with air traffic (§ 315a StGB).
