Drone Rules for Flugplatz Schönberg (EDPK)
Operating uncrewed multirotors within 1,500 meters of the Schönberg facility coordinates is fully restricted. Local drone flights require prior, unique case-by-case tactical coordination from the on-duty flight director to ensure structural safety.
Local Flight Patterns: The aerodrome operates as a specialized VFR special landing site, utilizing grass runway orientation 08/26. Air traffic consists of three-axis ultralights (UL), motor gliders (TMGs), and light single-engine general aviation aircraft up to 2 tons maximum takeoff weight (MTOW) monitoring the active tower frequency 132.990 MHz.Geographical Prohibitions: In strict execution of § 21h LuftVO framework criteria, unauthorized unmanned vehicles are banned within the 1.5 km lateral buffer envelope due to invisible collision vectors with descending aircraft. Note that for runway 26, south-bound takeoffs are blocked before the forest perimeter.On-Site Operations Base: For immediate radio coordination, specific local briefing, and paperwork checks, the supervisor desk is managed by Fliegergruppe Traunstein e.V., Schönbergstraße, 83361 Kienberg (Direct line verification desk: +49 8628 646).Waiver Process: Remote operators requesting a grid clearance must contact the operators via PPR channels and submit their coordinate limits alongside an active drone liability insurance policy to the office prior to system initialization.
