Flying drones is completely banned at Beijing Capital Airport. As of May 2026, the restriction covers the entire city, so no recreational flights are allowed anywhere near the airport. You cannot even bring a drone into the city or buy one locally.


Restriction:

  • The whole airport zone and Beijing city are off-limits. You need special government approval to fly, which is not granted for hobby use.

  • Carrying a drone through the airport or into the city by train or car is illegal.

  • If you own a drone, you must register it with authorities, but this does not allow you to fly in this zone.

  • Breaking these rules means your drone will be taken away, and you could face heavy fines or criminal charges.
