Drone operations are prohibited on airport property and within the active operational area of Chibougamau-Chapais Airport due to regular aircraft movements and aviation safety requirements.

Chibougamau-Chapais Airport (CYMT) is a public airport operated by the Québec Ministry of Transport. The airport serves the communities of Chibougamau, Chapais, Oujé-Bougoumou, and Mistissini and supports passenger, cargo, and regional aviation operations.

Transport Canada requires drone pilots to avoid operating in a manner that could interfere with aircraft operating at or near an airport or aerodrome. Drone takeoffs, landings, or flights conducted within the airport operational area may create hazards for arriving and departing aircraft.

This restriction applies to the runway, apron, airport facilities, and the immediate approach and departure corridors surrounding the airport. Pilots should obtain any required authorization before conducting operations near the airport environment.
