Basic drone operations are prohibited within 1.9 km (1 NM) of the Chartright Polson Pier Heliport (CPP4). Advanced operators require NAV CANADA authorization.


Requirements & Restrictions

  • No Basic Operations: Standard flights are fully restricted within 1.9 km of the CPP4 heliport in the Port Lands.
  • Certification: An Advanced Operations Pilot Certificate is mandatory to fly in this zone.
  • Altitude: No exemptions exist; the 1 NM restriction applies from the surface upward.

Permission Steps

  • Airspace Clearance: Advanced operators must submit flight plans and secure authorization directly through NAV CANADA.
  • Local Awareness: Coordinate with the aerodrome operator (Polson Parking Corporation) at 905-671-4674 prior to takeoff to deconflict with local helicopters.
