Drone Rules for State Airport de Araçatuba
Critical No-Fly Zone covering Araçatuba Airport (SBAU). All unauthorized drone flights are strictly prohibited within this airspace to eliminate collision risks with scheduled regional commercial jet and turboprop flights, corporate executive aviation, and intensive flight training operations.
Dario Guarita State Airport (SBAU) is a major regional airport located in Araçatuba, São Paulo, positioned along the Via de Acesso Olegário Ferraz. It serves as a vital economic and logistical hub for the northwest region of the state, handling daily scheduled commercial flights operated by major national airlines alongside a high volume of private corporate aviation and air taxi services. Additionally, the airfield frequently accommodates local flight school training maneuvers.
Because the airport is highly integrated with Araçatuba's urban infrastructure and surrounding agricultural transport routes, commercial airliners and executive aircraft regularly execute precision instrument (IFR) and visual (VFR) approaches at low altitudes directly over the nearby highways and residential sectors. Any uncoordinated drone activity in this immediate area creates an extreme risk to flight safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).
Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the airport's concessionaire (Rede Voa / ASP).
Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
