Drone Rules for Erechim Airport
Critical No-Fly Zone covering Erechim Airport (SSER). All unauthorized drone flights are strictly prohibited within this airspace to eliminate collision risks with regional executive aircraft, medical evacuation flights, and general aviation traffic. Only exceptional operations with explicit DECEA.
Erechim Airport (SSER) is a key regional airfield located in northern Rio Grande do Sul. It serves as an important logistical hub for the region's industrial and agricultural sectors, handling regular corporate aircraft, private executive flights, and critical emergency medical evacuations.
The airfield is situated near major highways and the urban boundaries of Erechim. Because arriving and departing aircraft operate at low altitudes under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) directly over the surrounding terrain during final approaches and takeoffs, any uncoordinated drone activity in the vicinity poses an immediate threat to flight safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).
Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Municipal Administration of Erechim.
Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
