After
The Base Aérea de Santa Cruz is one of the most critical and historic strategic installations operated by the Brazilian Air Force (FAB). Located in the West Zone of Rio de Janeiro, this massive complex serves as the home base for first-line fighter squadrons, tactical reconnaissance units, and military transport aircraft. The base features highly secured maintenance hangars, ammunition storage depots, and a historic Zeppelin hangar.

Operating an unauthorized civilian drone near a primary fighter jet base poses catastrophic aviation risks. High-speed military aircraft frequently execute low-altitude tactical maneuvers, takeoffs, and landings within this specific airspace, making any uncoordinated drone presence a direct mid-air collision hazard. Additionally, unauthorized aerial mapping or surveillance of frontline combat aircraft and defense layouts is strictly forbidden. Under DECEA instruction ICA 100-40, the area is protected by advanced radar monitoring and electronic counter-measures. Any unauthorized aircraft entering this airspace will be immediately jammed or neutralized, and the operator will face severe federal criminal charges.
