Praia do Forte, the main and most famous beach in Cabo Frio, is widely celebrated for its expansive white sands and clear waters, featuring the historic 17th-century São Mateus Fort at its eastern tip. Because the beach sits safely outside the immediate mandatory no-fly zones of Cabo Frio International Airport (CFB), operators can take advantage of standard low-altitude provisions.
To ensure a safe flight, pilots must strictly observe ANAC safety protocols. A horizontal distance of at least 30 meters (100 feet) must be maintained from non-consenting individuals, meaning flying directly over crowds on the beach or near the busy oceanfront boardwalk is prohibited. Additionally, ocean coastal winds can be strong and unpredictable in this region, requiring careful battery management and constant visual contact with the aircraft.
