Drone Rules for Nuclear Power Plant Angra 2
The airspace over and surrounding the Angra 2 Nuclear Power Plant / Central Nuclear Almirante Álvaro Alberto (CNAAA) (Itaorna, Angra dos Reis, RJ) is classified as an absolute Critical National Infrastructure Defense Perimeter, Specialized Radiological Protection Zone, and Military-Guarded No-Fly Zone.
The Usina Nuclear Angra 2 is the second operational reactor unit of the Almirante Álvaro Alberto Nuclear Complex (CNAAA), situated along the BR-101 (Rodovia Governador Mário Covas) in the bay of Itaorna. Managed by Eletronuclear, this federally protected installation has been a critical cornerstone of Brazil’s national strategic energy matrix for decades and holds highly sensitive radioactive materials.
The airspace enveloping the entire nuclear complex is officially designated by the Department of Airspace Control (DECEA) as Restricted Airspace SBR 302, extending from the ground up to high flight levels. No civilian drone flight can be requested or authorized through standard channels like the SARPAS NG portal. Any attempt to operate a drone here will result in immediate federal arrest under national security laws, permanent equipment seizure, and severe criminal prosecution for endangering nuclear safety and national sovereign infrastructure.
