Santa Magalhães Airport (SNXS) is a key regional airfield located in Serra Talhada, in the Pajeú Valley region of Pernambuco. It serves as a vital infrastructure asset for the interior of the state, handling scheduled commercial passenger flights that connect the region to major capital hubs, alongside private executive aviation, government transport, and emergency aeromedical flights.

The airport is situated near major regional highways (such as the BR-232) and the expanding urban periphery of Serra Talhada. Because commercial turboprops and executive aircraft operate under specific instrument and visual approach paths at low altitudes directly over the surrounding terrain and populated sectors during landings and takeoffs, any uncoordinated drone activity poses an immediate threat to aviation safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).

Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Government of the State of Pernambuco.

Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.

Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
