The airspace surrounding Linhares Regional Airport (SNLN) is strictly regulated to support the city's expanding regional commercial flights, executive transport, and general aviation. Due to recent modernization and infrastructure upgrades, standard protection zones are heavily enforced over the surrounding industrial parks, highways, and residential expansion sectors to protect arriving and departing aircraft.
Regulatory Framework: All drone operations in the region fall under the jurisdiction of DECEA, ANAC, and ANATEL. Pilots must fully comply with national regulations to ensure complete safety and separation from manned aircraft.
Flight Authorization: Even as an expanding regional hub, any drone operations within the airport’s designated buffer zones or final approach corridors require mandatory planning and advanced authorization through the SARPAS system.
Geofencing Controls: Commercial drone manufacturers incorporate the Linhares airfield into their GPS Geofencing safety maps. The automated firmware establishes Restricted Zones (Red Zones) or Warning Zones, which automatically lock drone motors or limit maximum altitude based on proximity to the runway.
Legal Penalties: Conducting unauthorized drone flights within this critical flight safety zone is a federal offense under Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code (endangering air transport safety). Violations are subject to equipment confiscation, substantial fines, and potential criminal prosecution.
