Before
After
The Luciano de Arruda Coelho Regional Airport (SN6L) is the primary aviation facility serving Sobral and the northern region of Ceará. Having completely replaced the old urban airfield (SNOB), this modern infrastructure handles regular scheduled commercial passenger turboprop flights connecting the region to Fortaleza, alongside a steady flow of private corporate aviation, government operations, and aeromedical flights.
Because aircraft navigate specific low-altitude visual (VFR) and instrument (IFR) traffic corridors during takeoffs, final approaches, and landings, uncoordinated drone activity inside this active zone creates an immediate threat to aviation safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airport perimeter or its designated traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).
Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Government of the State of Ceará.
Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
