Lúcio Lima Airport (SNIL) is an important regional airfield located in Crateús, in the western region of the state of Ceará. It serves as a vital logistics and transport link for the region's economy, accommodating scheduled regional commercial turboprop flights, private corporate aircraft, government transport, and critical aeromedical evacuation missions.

The airfield is situated near major local highways (such as the BR-226) and the urban periphery of Crateús. Because aircraft navigate at low altitudes under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) and local approach procedures directly over the surrounding terrain during final landings and takeoffs, any uncoordinated drone activity in this vicinity poses an immediate and severe threat to flight safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).

Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Government of the State of Ceará.

Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.

Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
