Drone Rules for Aeródromo de Sr. do Bonfim - BA (SJO9)
Critical No-Fly Zone covering Senhor do Bonfim Airport (SNBI). All unauthorized drone flights are strictly prohibited within this airspace to eliminate collision risks with regional executive aircraft, government transport, and emergency medical flights. Only exceptional operations with explicit DECEA clearance via SAR
Senhor do Bonfim Airport (SNBI) is a regional airfield located in northern Bahia. The airport plays an important logistical role for the municipality and the surrounding mineral-rich region, accommodating private corporate aircraft, government transport, and critical aeromedical evacuation missions.
The airfield is situated near major local highways (such as the BR-407) and the urban boundaries of Senhor do Bonfim. Because arriving and departing aircraft navigate at low altitudes under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) directly over the surrounding terrain during final approaches and takeoffs, any uncoordinated drone activity in the vicinity poses an immediate threat to flight safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic patterns are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).
Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Government of the State of Bahia.
Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
