Before
After
The Base Naval de Aratu (BNA), located in the São Tomé de Paripe district of Salvador, Bahia, is the second most critical industrial maintenance and repair complex operated by the Brazilian Navy, trailing only the main shipyard in Rio de Janeiro. Subordinated to the 2nd Naval District Command, Aratu supports surface combatants and serves as the strategic home port for the country’s Mine Countermeasures and Sweeping Forces (Força de Minagem e Varredura). The base is heavily secure, completely fenced off by thick Atlantic forest buffers on land, and continuously patrolled by armed Navy security detachments and patrol vessels on the water. Any drone attempting to cross the perimeter without high-level clearance from naval command and an official flight authorization filed via DECEA’s SARPAS NG portal will be actively jammed. Operators face immediate federal arrest, equipment seizure, and prosecution under the Military Penal Code.
