Drone Rules for Via do Aeroporto
Critical No-Fly Zone covering Parintins Airport (SWPI). All unauthorized drone flights are strictly prohibited within this airspace to eliminate collision risks with regional turboprops, air taxis, and heavy commercial charter flights. Only exceptional operations with explicit DECEA clearance via SARPAS NG,
Parintins Airport (SWPI) is a highly critical regional hub located on Tupinambarana Island in the Amazon River basin, Amazonas. It handles steady year-round traffic of regional commercial flights, air taxis, and medical evacuations. During the annual Parintins Folklore Festival, the airport experiences a massive surge in aviation activity, becoming one of the busiest airfields in northern Brazil with a constant flow of commercial charters, executive aircraft, and helicopters.
Because the airfield is close to urban neighborhoods and surrounding waterways, aircraft operate at low altitudes directly over residential areas and docks during their arrival and departure phases. Uncoordinated drone operations within these corridors present an immediate threat to flight safety. Spontaneous or recreational drone flights within the airfield perimeter or its active traffic funnels are completely banned under federal law (Brazilian Penal Code, Art. 261).
Regulatory Authorities: DECEA, ANAC, and the Municipal Administration of Parintins.
Primary Framework: ICA 100-40 (DECEA) and Article 261 of the Brazilian Penal Code.
Flight Planning Portal: Operational safety grids and temporary or permanent airspace restrictions are managed via SARPAS NG and Aisweb.
