Avalon Nature Preserve

The spot is very enjoyable to fly in with the wooded trails, open clearings, and the central pond areas that sit lower than the surrounding land. You can also see how the preserve stretches out with dense tree cover in some sections and more open spaces in others. There are some tall trees on the hills and thicker forested areas you should watch out for, as well as narrow gaps between tree lines where visibility can drop quickly. Sadly, I all of the pond water was flooded out in August of 2024 during a storm. I don’t have any photos but this photo is the current state of the pond.
