Jones Beach

This spot is one of the most popular coastal flying areas on Long Island because of its long, wide beach and open Atlantic views that make cinematic tracking shots really clean. The drone generally handles well here over the flat shoreline, but you’ll often deal with steady ocean winds that can push your aircraft and reduce battery efficiency on the way back. It’s excellent for smooth flyovers along the beach, wide establishing shots of the coastline, and low-altitude passes over the surf. The iconic boardwalk and nearby structures also give you good foreground elements for more dynamic framing. Sunsets here are especially strong, with the sky reflecting off the water for high-contrast, colorful footage.
